Dr Erritty is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist who specialises in the management of benign gynaecology with a focus on menstrual disorders, pelvic pain and endometriosis.
He completed his medical training at the University of Bristol and having subsequently worked across London and the South East of England, is now employed as a full time NHS Consultant at the Centre for Endometriosis & Minimally Invasive Gynaecology at Ashford & St Peters NHS Foundation Trust.
He has completed the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists recognised training scheme in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery for the Excision of Benign disease and regularly contributes to national and international meetings such as the BSGE (British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy) and ESGE (European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy).
Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain
Endometriosis is far more common than most people realise and is often mis-understood and under-diagnosed. It may present in a multitude of ways but often confers pelvic pain and sub fertility.
Dr Erritty is a specialist in benign gynaecology including the diagnosis & treatment of endometriosis using advanced endoscopic techniques to excise all forms of the disease including deep peritoneal and ovarian endometriosis.
Treatments
The most important principle is that the treatments offered are achieved through supported decision making. You will be given appropriate options and time to come to a decision you feel comfortable with.
Medical Management
Many benign gynaecological conditions can be easily and safely addressed through medical treatments and prescriptions that can be recommend to your GP.
Conditions such as heavy periods, painful periods and menopause will often be resolved through simple and effective treatments theatre recommended or prescribed in line with national guidance from bodies such as NICE.
Laparoscopic Surgery
Whilst the majority of conditions do not require surgical intervention, many do and this may include ;
ovarian cysts
endometriosis unresponsive to hormonal therapy
heavy periods requiring endometrial ablation or laparoscopic hysterectomy
fibroid resection
hysteroscopic resection fibroids (TCRF)
laparoscopic myomectomy
subfertility assessment
